Alberto Pera

Former Secretary General of the Italian Competition Authority from 1990 to 2000, founder of the the Antitrust Practice at Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners in 2001 Formerly consultant to two Ministers of Industry for competition and antitrust issues, head of economic research at IRI and economist at the IMF (1980 to 1985).
Recognized expert in competition law and economics, well versed in fields such as regulation of public utilities and privatization policies. Holder of two degrees (Economics and Law) and of a Master of Science in Economics, awarded by the London School of Economics.
Author of four books and over thirty articles dealing with competition, privatization and regulation; frequent speaker in conferences and seminars; member of the editorial board of the European Competition Journal and of Concorrenza e Mercato.
